Introduction

In the chapters and books of life, I have recently ended a major volume to begin construction of a new world back in California. For the past 6 years I lived abroad on Vancouver Island, Canada and I’m adjusting to life back “home” in the San Joaquin Valley. I've freshly graduated from CSU Stanislaus with a BA in English (long time coming), I'm in the Masters Program for English Literature at Fresno State, and I'm adjusting to my new life with my boyfriend in Fresno CA. I have a young son and if you want to be on a "No, thanks -not really interested in baby stuff-" filter let me know. As a long time advocate of child-free turned -wait a minute just hold on, let's think about this- I completely understand.

Interests

Knowledge for knowledge’s sake drives my life. I read, jog, garden, hike (a lot), learn new recipes, write, and watch the clouds. No, really. I volunteer for a rain collection network. Nature is always a running theme. Some days I drink wine. Some days I drink beer. I usually don't eat higher on the food chain than a fish. The seasons usually dictate my extracurricular activities, as they should.

Friends

The people I add to my friends list are incredibly special to me, and I have been friends with some for many years. I like to keep my circle small, but I do enjoy a kind face to join in. Please introduce yourself to be added. Common interests are preferable, but not essential. If you are added I expect participation with a comment every once in a while. If I don’t hear from you in over 6 months, I will drop you. I like to keep my friends close. I will of course return the favor.

The Journal

This is my 3rd incarnation of a live journal, much like The Doctor regenerates into a new body. I have been here since 2006 even though this journal is much younger. I post several times a week, and it’s never in Dear Diary form. It’s a creative journal that evolves and becomes its own living and breathing being. I philosophize about life, quote poetry, bitch, flail, cry and share my delights. It’s also important to not take things too seriously. Come in. The kettle's just boiled.
